Dedicated volunteers honored by BACH Jewish Center

At the 2012 BACH (Bachueri Chemed) Jewish Center’s 2012 Gala Dinner, guests enjoyed a variety of food while paying tribute to individuals and couples who have dedicated their time to the organization.

The BACH Jewish Center, which serves the Jewish communities of Long Beach, Lido and Atlantic Beach, held a July 31 dinner at the Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park. Miriam Herman, who grew up in Woodmere, and her husband Bradley were given a Community Outreach Award for their commitment to helping others.

The Herman’s three children attend The Brandeis School in Lawrence and Miriam has spearheaded the school’s presence at the United Jewish Appeal-Five Towns Food Drive.

Eve Milstein of Hewlett was given the “Woman of the Year” award, Long Beach resident Felice Harris was presented with the “Community Service Award” and Rachaelle and Philip Ostrove were named “Couple of the Year.”
