Defensive dominance

The girls under-10 Blue Shock team of the Hewlett-Lawrence Soccer Club played in the 17th annual Bob Schrager Memorial Long Island Cup and captured first place with a 4-0 record.

This squad's defense was dominant as it allowed a total of three goals and no more than one in any game. Head coach Jef Rotblut and assistant coaches Chip Reiter and Joe Panzarella expressed their pride regarding how how hard the team worked.

It is a great start to the Blue Shock's Long Island Junior Soccer League travel season as the team seeks to continue its success when it compiled a 12-2-1 record in U-9 play last year.
