An alleged drunk driver hit a car and nearly crashed into a house on Meadow Lane in Lawrence.

After hitting another car and nearly crashing into a home on Meadow Lane in Lawrence at 7:34 p.m. on July 22, an alleged drunken driver was taken into custody by 4th Precinct officers, and then taken to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside.
Firefighters from the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department responded to the scene and treated the man. Shortly after the police arrived he became angry and started acting belligerent, according to officials.
There were no other injuries. Traffic heading to the beach was diverted through local streets.
