Ensuring child car seat safety

Five Towns residents and others from surrounding communities were able to check if their child car seats were properly attached and in good working order at an event hosted by State Sen. Todd Kaminsky (D-Long Beach), Assemblywoman Melissa “Missy” Miller (R-Atlantic Beach) and County Legislator Howard Kopel (R-Lawrence) at Congregation Beth Sholom in Lawrence on May 15.

The car seat safety check was conducted by a representative from the Nassau County Transportation Safety Board, who instructed parents on how to properly install and secure child car seats.

“I recently had my car washed at a car wash and didn’t feel that my car seats were properly reinstalled afterwards,” said Woodmere resident Tayla Kohn. “I now feel fully confident that all three of my car seats are now safely installed.”
