Burglary arrest

INWOOD-Ever Marroquin, 20, of Doughty Boulevard was arrested for the burglary of a Stanley Street residence, where he allegedly caused $1,200 in damage to the home and a vehicle on Feb. 27, police said.

At 1:40 a.m., Marroquin had an argument with a woman, 39, and without her permission entered her home and damaged the electrical circuit box and took a set of car keys, according to police.

Then, outside the house, he allegedly poured a white powdery substance into the gas tank of the woman’s vehicle, police said. He is charged with burglary-second degree and criminal mischief-third degree.

Shooting arrest

INWOOD- Fourth Squad detectives arrested Durrell Gaines, 23, of 114 Drive in St. Albans on Feb. 25 at 11:10 a.m. in Far Rockaway, for allegedly shooting a 28-year-old man in Inwood.

At 12:15 a.m. on July 5, two men armed with handguns returned to Bayview Avenue after firecrackers were allegedly thrown at their feet, police said. Both men fired approximately seven shots and struck one man once in the buttocks. The other shots struck an apartment building and no other injuries were reported.

Gaines was charged with criminal use of a firearm-second degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon-second degree, assault-second degree, reckless endangerment-first degree and criminal possession of a weapon-third degree.

attempted robbery

NORTH WOODMERE-One man was shot in an apparent botched robbery attempt on Flanders Drive on Feb. 23 at 8:13 p.m., according to police.

The shooting victim, a 39-year-old man, was standing on the street, when a dark, four-door vehicle with unknown amount of men pulled up next to him, police said.

One of those men got out of the vehicle, approached the victim and allegedly tried to rob him. Then the shooting began and the victim was shot several times, police said.

He was taken by Nassau County police helicopter to an area hospital. The men fled west on Flanders Drive without any proceeds.
