Robbery

LAWRENCE-An employee was allegedly assaulted and two men stole money from business on Rockaway Turnpike on June 8 at 11 p.m., police said.

As several employees were closing the store, two men carrying handguns entered; one allegedly struck a worker in the face with a gun and both men demanded money from the cash registers, according to police. The men then fled on foot with an unspecified amount of cash.

Both men are black and one is described as 5-feet, 9-inches in height, with a stocky build wearing a tan colored New York Yankees baseball cap, a blue long sleeve shirt, long blue shirts, sneakers and a red tinted bandanna partly covering his face. The other man is 5-feet, 10-inches tall, thin, with a light colored long sleeve shirt, blue jean shorts, reddish colored bandanna partly covering his face, a black do-rag on head and a large size medallion around his neck.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential and callers remain anonymous.

Larceny

CEDARHURST-Four hubcaps were taken from a vehicle on Cedarhurst Avenue on June 1 at 6 p.m., police said.

LAWRENCE-A cell phone was taken from an employee common area in a store on Rockaway Turnpike on June 4 between noon and 2:30 p.m., according to police.

NORTH WOODMERE-On June 4 at 7 p.m., a cell phone was stolen in North Woodmere Park, authorities said.

HEWLETT-A PlayStation console and games were reported missing from a home on Trinity Place at 7 p.m. on June 3, officials said.

Criminal mischief

CEDARHURST-The passenger side of a car at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Central was scratched by someone using a key between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., police said.

WOODMERE-At 2 p.m. on June 6, the passenger side windows of a vehicle on Derby Avenue was damaged, according to police.
