Robbery

NORTH WOODMERE – A man wielding a handgun allegedly robbed the Shell gas station at 928 Rosedale Rd. of an unspecified amount of money on Dec. 28 at 9:30 p.m., police said.

According to police, the man, described as black, 20- to 25-years-old, 5-feet-8-inches with a thin build wearing a black-hooded jacket, dark pants, black glove on his right hand and a mask entered the station’s store, pointed a gun at the 54-year-old clerk and demanded the clerk remove cash from the resister.

Then the man ordered both the clerk and another man, 72, into the back of the store. The man, who placed the money in a black plastic bag, then fled on foot through the front door onto Rosedale Road.

Burglary

HEWLETT – Multiple cell phones and tablets were stolen from the T-Mobile store at 1338 Peninsula Blvd. in the Peninsula Shopping Center on Dec. 28 at 4:34 a.m., according to police.

After responding to the alarm, Fourth Precinct officers found that a cinder block was thrown through the front glass window of the store.

On Aug. 12, two men wearing dark colored clothing allegedly threw a chunk of concrete through the glass door of the Radio Shack on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst. No items were reported taken, police said. Three days later, a man, similarly dressed, allegedly tossed a brick through the front glass door of the AT&T store on Rockaway Turnpike in Cedarhurst. Again no merchandise was taken.

Police are investigating the latest incident and asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.

Arrests

LAWRENCE – Daniel Pierre, 39, of West Hempstead, was arrested for shoplifting from a warehouse store on Rockaway Turnpike at 6:10 p.m. on Dec. 17, according to police.

LAWRENCE – Police said they arrested Rolando N. Ellis, 49, of St. Albans, Queens, for shoplifting from a clothing store on Rockaway Turnpike at 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 20.

LAWRENCE – On Dec. 13 at 11 p.m., Nelson A. Rodas, 22, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on Central Avenue for driving while intoxicated, authorities said.
