No floods reported in the Five Towns

Posted

Despite the heavy rain and hammering wind, the Five Towns appeared to have escaped flooding and other damage, according to reports.

Fire departments, Atlantic Beach, Hewlett and Woodmere each said there have been no reports of flooding from community members.

“I don’t think the rain was heavy here as in other parts of the island,” Robin Trott, commissioner at Atlantic Beach wrote in text.

A flood advisory and high wind warning were in effect for all of Nassau County.

If you have any flooding in your community, please contact your local fire department.
