Five Towns schools marched in 'Celebrate Israel Parade'

Four Five Towns yeshivas marched in the "Celebrate Israel Parade" on Sunday, including The Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway in Cedarhurst, the Brandeis School and Rambam Mesivta High School, both in Lawrence, the Shalhevet High School for girls and the Shulmuth School for girls, both in Woodmere.

The Hebrew Academy of Long Beach was also represented.

The parade route stepped off at Fifth Avenue from 57th Street, then proceeded up to 79th Street.

For the first time, the parade was televised live. It was on WWOR-TV (Channel 9) from noon until 2 p.m.
