Ethan Grossman, of Hewlett, and Aliyah Wright, from Inwood, took advantage of their respective school’s programs by taking their education across the world. Grossman, a junior at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pa., attended Muhlenberg in Maastricht-Business and Economics in Europe in Netherlands during the full semester. Wright is studying in Windhoek, Namibia.

Upwards of 300 Muhlenberg College students study abroad annually, and 56 percent of the school’s 2019 class did it at least one, school officials noted. Siena College students in every major have the opportunity to study abroad in more than 50 countries. Students pursue international internships, conduct original research, engage in meaningful service learning and form lifetime friendships, and expand their employment prospects.

Hewlett resident Justin Hillsberg, who is majoring in marketing, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. More than 2,400 students  — roughly 20 percent of the university’s enrollment — earned a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.99.

Lexi Liebowitz and Gianna Papini, both from Hewlett, were among the 1,539 SUNY Oneonta students who earned dean’s list for the fall semester. To qualify, students must attain a GPA of 3.5 or higher with a course load of 12 hours or more.
