Floral Park resident Bertram Wolf killed in two-car crash in Hewlett

Floral Park resident Bertram Wolf, 85,  was killed and another man is in serious condition after a two-car crash at the intersection of Harris Avenue and Peninsula Boulevard just north of the Long Island Rail road trestle at 11:30 a.m. in Hewlett on Dec. 31, Nassau police said.

According to police, the 2017 Mercedes Benz driven by Wolf was traveling north on Peninsula Boulevard and making a left turn onto Harris Avenue when it collided with a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck that was heading south on Peninsula Boulevard.

Wolf was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by hospital emergency medical staff, police said.

The driver of the Dodge pickup, a 77-year-old man, was also taken to a local hospital. He is in serious condition, as of press time. The investigation is ongoing.
