Flurry of snow falls in the Five Towns

Posted

For more than hour on Friday morning snow fell on the Five Towns, which slowed the commute to work and school, had people out shoveling and municipal crews sanding the roads.

David Diner, a five-year resident of a home on Woodmere Boulevard across from the Long Island Rail Road train Station in Woodmere was shoveling. Asked if it was the worst five-year stretch of winters he has endured he said: "It's a lot of snow."

The morning storm dropped approximately an inch of snow. By about 10 a.m. the snow had stopped falling and the temperature is expected to be in the mid 30s.
