Fourth Precinct South Auxiliary Inspector Danny Gluck to be honored

Inspector Danny Gluck, the commanding officer of the volunteer county auxiliary police, Fourth Precinct — South unit that patrols the Five Towns, will be one of the honorees at the Nassau County Shomrin Society annual breakfast on May 19. Gluck heads what is considered the largest auxiliary police unit in the county.

Other honorees includes County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, the Shomrin Society’s law enforcement person of the year; Martin Elias, the philanthropist person of the year; and retired probation officer Cheryl Graber and Deputy Inspector Alan Hirsch receiving the Avodah Service Award. Gluck will be presented with the Todah Appreciation Award.

Founded in 1962, the Shomrin Society promotes the religious spirit of  Jewish police officers and their families. Gluck has been part of the organization for 10 years and is its executive vice president.
