Grant Park in Hewlett will host a free Woodstock tribute concert by Gathering Time on July 12 at 7 p.m.
No, the New York State Thruway is not closed again, but it may feel like 1969 as the Long Island-based folk-rock harmony trio Gathering Time will perform a tribute concert to Crosby, Stills, & Nash, Joni Mitchell and other musical artists who performed at Woodstock during a free show on Tuesday, July 12 at 7 p.m. in Grant Park in Hewlett.
Described as a “co-ed CSN,” Gathering Time will also play songs from Arlo Guthrie, the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and the Jefferson Airplane, who were among the group who performed at the historic three-day event in upstate Bethel 47 years ago.
Grant Park is on Sheridan Avenue off of Broadway by the 4th Precinct.
