There were artists, dancers, craft and food vendors, demonstrations of karate and robotics and other STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) related activities, live music and food at the seventh annual Arts Below Sunrise festival along Broadway in Hewlett and Woodmere on Oct. 14.
The event is organized by the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools Endowment Fund and staffed by volunteers from the Fund, the Hewlett High School and Woodmere Middle School Youth Leadership Forums, the Hewlett-Woodmere Business Association, Trinity-St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Hewlett-Woodmere public Library, the Hewlett and Woodmere fire departments, the auxiliary police and other community members.
