Goodbye to a Hewlett postal clerk

Pravas Daz worked as a postal clerk at the Hewlett Post Office for 25 years. His long-term commitment to his job earned him a plaque and on Sept. 27 he walked out of the Hewlett plaza building for the last time as an United States Postal System employee.

Hewlett resident Andrew Liebowitz was on hand to say goodbye to Daz. “Everyone who frequents the Hewlett Post Office over the years knew Pravas,” Liebowitz said. "He was slow but steady. Pravas was methodical. Pravas has taken great care of all of our packages that have gone out over the past 10 years.”

“I don’t have any one particular memory,” Valley Stream resident Margi Stamile said. “Just that any time I went and was taken care of by him, he was always a perfect gentleman, patient and kind. I wish him and his family continued blessings upon his retirement.”
