Five Towners are graduating from college

The University of Albany congratulated more than 3,300 students who graduated at its 174th commencement, from May 18 to 20. Graduates from August 2017 and December 2017 were also recognized at the ceremony.

Among those who graduated include: Isaac Amos of Cedarhurst, with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology; Jonathan Yela of Inwood, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics; Nnamdi Nwaigwe of Valley Stream, with a Bachelor of Science in computer science-combined; Nicholas Marino of Woodmere, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics; Catherine Raimo of Hewlett, with a Bachelor of Arts in public policy & management, and Katherine Rhee of Hewlett, with a Certificate of Graduate Study in emergency prep, homeland security and cybersecurity.

Atlantic Beach resident Olivia Levi, a Lawrence High School graduate, and Kendell Ogilvie, of Valley Stream, a graduate of Lawrence Woodmere Academy, are freshmen at SUNY Oswego. Levi is yet to declare a major. Ogilvie intends to major in accounting. Classes began Aug. 27.
