Having fun and raising money for Peninsula Counseling Center

Posted

Peninsula Counseling Center’s Auxiliary held its Ladies Nite Out event at Mother Kelly’s in Cedarhurst on Dec. 5.

Through Ladies Nite Out, which attracted 60 women and included Bingo and dinner, auxiliary membership dues, donations, a theater party, an indoor winter walk at Green Acres Mall and a pot-luck barbecue at the home of an auxiliary member, $10,000 has been raised to support the Doris Vine Memorial Fund for Children at PCC.

The PCC Auxiliary is a community-based group of women who support the agency and established the Doris Vine Memorial Fund in her memory after she died nearly 20 years ago.

All the proceeds collected by the fund help to support a variety of children’s services at PCC, including treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disabilities, autism, anxiety and depressive disorders; psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication management, chemical dependency and parent support groups.
