Nassau County police and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who allegedly has committed several robberies at knifepoint of businesses such as Dunkin’ Donuts, 7-Elevens, Carvels and a Subway throughout the county, including the Carvel in Hewlett, since March 1.

Police said that the robberies have occurred between 9:48 a.m. and 12:20 a.m. The man is described as black, 25-30-years-old, 6-feet, 170 lbs., wearing a dark colored hooded jacket, dark colored scarf or bandana across his lower face, sunglasses, gloves, blue jeans and tan work boots.

He typically enters the store, pulls out a large knife, demands money, and then flees the scene on foot, police said, adding that the man has been seen waiting in the area of the business and then when there are no customers commits the robbery.

Anyone who has information about the identity or whereabouts of the alleged robber is asked to call 1 (800) 244-8477. All calls are confidential. There is up to a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
