Cedarhurst resident and Holocaust survivor Rabbi Leo Zisman spoke about the importance of being charitable and noted his parents generosity to the less fortunate in his native Lithuania.

At its annual meeting held at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library on Dec. 20, the Woodmere-based Five Towns Community Chest presented several local organizations with funds raised through its “Neighbors in Need” concert that featured Jay and the Americans, which totaled more than $25,000.
The Tempo Group, Peninsula Counseling Center, the JCC of the Greater Five Towns, Five Towns Early Learning Center and Five Towns Community Center received funds. Rabbi Leo Zisman, a Holocaust survivor and Cedarhurst resident, was the keynote speaker and the group’s board and its youth board were installed.
