Helping those who served in the U.S. military

A day of fun was had by about 80 disabled military veterans, along with 130 members, guests and golf and tennis pros at the third annual Honor Disabled U.S. Veterans Day at the Lawrence Yacht & Country Club last Sunday.

There was golf, tennis and fishing, lunch and a sit-down dinner and raffles to benefit the Soldiers Project, PGA Hope, Paws of War and Folds of Honor; organizations that assist veterans who were wounded.

The event raised nearly $25,000 and was primarily sponsored by Brightview, the company that maintains the club’s 18-hole course and the Royalton Catering Company, the club’s non-kosher caterer.
