Hewlett-based Hindi’s Libraries founded by Five Towners Leslie Gang and Dovid Kanarfogel received a donation from the Northport Rotary for the second consecutive year. The philanthropic North Shore organization collected more than 8,000 children’s books and delivered more than 100 boxes filled with those books this past weekend. The rotary club, represented by Judy Farabaugh and  Andy Giffin, also donated $1,000 to help defray shipping costs.

Hindi's Libraries is an international nonprofit that donates new and gently used children’s books across the world, spanning the 50 United States, Africa, India, Israel, and Puerto Rico. Books are sent to recipients, completely free of charge, as the nonprofit absorbs all shipping costs.

Established in 2018 in memory of Dr. Hindi Krinsky, a 32-year-old educator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway High School and mother of five children who suddenly died in August of 2018 because of complications from Crohn’s disease.

More than 100,000 books have been collected and Hindi’s Libraries has partnered with 385 organizations worldwide. For more information, go to www.hindislibraries.com.
