Hewlett H.S. art teacher receives top honors

Hewlett High School art teacher Ted Chereskin was presented with the Art Educator of the Year Award for Nassau County at the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) annual conference in Rye, N.Y. on Nov. 21. Chereskin was nominated for his expertise, enthusiasm and energy. He is known as a master teacher and a team player. He embodies the idea of being a life-long learner. His work in the classroom, and as lead technology teacher, along with his role as Web master of the NYSATA site, qualified him for this prestigious honor.
