Hewlett Neck home burglarized, resident injured

A Hewlett Neck woman, 56, was injured after she confronted a man who took unspecified possessions from her Woodmere Boulevard S. house on Nov. 23, according to police.

Police said that a man described as Hispanic, unshaven in his mid to late 30s, 5-feet, 8-inches tall with a stocky build and wearing all black clothing came through a second floor window.

He entered a second floor bedroom where the woman was and pushed her to the floor before leaving through the same window with multiple items. He fled on foot, police said. The woman suffered a bruise to her head and a hand injury. She was treated at the scene.
