Inwood beverage store clerk robbed at gunpoint

A man brandishing a gun allegedly robbed an Inwood beverage store of an unspecified amount of cash on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m., police said.

Armed with a silver revolver, the man entered Sobol Beer Distributors at 255 Sheridan Blvd., and demanded money from the clerk behind the counter. The man then leaped over the counter and removed cash from the register, according to police. He then fled on foot on Bayswater Boulevard. There was only one customer in the store at the time, and no one was injured.

The alleged thief is described as a black man, 25-years-old, 5-feet-10-inches to 6-feet in height, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and black sneakers with white soles and light blue or light green shoe laces.
