More than $100,000 was raised and over 200 people took part in Inwood Country Club’s annual Charity Day event that includes golf and tennis tournaments, a card game and mah jong event, along with a Kid Kamp on Aug. 3. The day kicked off with a breakfast at 8 a.m. and the competitions began an hour later. Children were entertained with a host of activities. After that there was a barbecue, an wards ceremony and raffle drawings. Proceeds from the event benefit local charities such as the Greater Five Towns JCC, the Inwood Fire Department, the National Council of Jewish Women and Hatzolah Ambulance, and club employees based on financial need.
