Jewish prayer books are something to sing about at Brandeis School

Brandeis School second-graders received their first Torah and the occasion was celebrated in grand fashion with grandparents, parents and siblings in attendance for this special presentation in December.

The 18 students sang in a performance coordinated by second trade teachers Ruth Hirsh and Alison Troyetsky. Zvi Lampert provided musical accompaniment.

Underneath a talit, a Jewish prayer shawl, Rabbi Saul Haimoff, the Lawrence school’s head rabbi, blessed the students.
