Several fire departments, including Lawrence-Cedarhurst responded to a kitchen fire at MoCa restaurant on Burnside Avenue in Lawrence on Jan. 18..

Seven fire departments battled a kitchen fire at the MoCa Chinese-Japanese restaurant at 274 Burnside Ave. in Lawrence last Sunday, said Dave Campbell, the 1st assistant chief for the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department.
The call was reported at 11:18 a.m., Campbell said. In less than an hour the fire was extinguished and there were no injuries.
In addition to the LCFD, the Inwood, Hewlett, Woodmere, Meadowmere Park, Valley Stream, Long Beach and Elmont fire departments also responded to the scene.
