The perennial bonfire, a petting zoo, Chicago Boyz acrobatic team, games, activities and food highlighted the Chabad of the Five Towns Lag B’Omer party at Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park on May 26.

Lag B’Omer is a Jewish holiday celebrated 33 days after Passover and marks the anniversary of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai’s death, a sage and lead disciple of Rabbi Akiva in the second century. Considered somewhat of a mourning period, after the 33rd day restrictions are lifted and typically weddings, parties, haircuts and music listening coincide with the celebration.
