Memorial Day was celebrated in Lawrence and Cedarhurst as the annual parade preceded down Central Avenue. Above, the Lawrence High School marching band and color guard took part in the event.

At Zion Park in Lawrence prior to the parade, officials held a memorial service. From left were Rabbi Kenneth Hain, Msgr. Starting with a service at Zion Park and ending with a similar tribute in Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park, the annual Lawrence-Cedarhurst Memorial Day Parade on Monday echoed with remembrances of military personnel who sacrificed their lives in the nation’s wars.
Parise, the mayor of Cedarhurst village, and a World War II veteran, handed out small replica flags along with other village officials, as many civic groups and the Lawrence High School marching band and color guard took part in the parade.
