The Lawrence Yacht and Country Club will hold its second annual event to honor disabled U.S. veterans on Sunday, Sept. 20. This year’s beneficiaries will include the Wounded Warrior Project, Folds of Honor, American Vet Dogs, The Soldiers Project and Boots on the Ground.
Registration for golf, tennis or fishing will begin at noon. Members of the country club and community residents are welcome to participate in these activities alongside the veterans. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
At 6 p.m., all Lawrence residents and club members are invited to attend the dinner and cocktail reception, catered by Royalton Caterers. Prizes will be raffled off and a silent auction will take place during the dinner.
Contributors of goods and services will be recognized. Last year, more than $32,000 was raised for the Wounded Warrior Project. All of this year’s funds will be divided evenly among the five organizations.
There is an entry fee of $70 and registration is limited to the first 400 paid. Checks should be made out to LGCWDI and mailed to Lawrence Yacht and Country Club, 101 Causeway, Lawrence, NY 11559. Attire for the dinner is resort casual.
