Lawrence students return to school

Students in the Lawrence School District returned from summer vacation last week and began another school year of learning on Sept. 3.
Four of the district’s five schools have been renamed as Lawrence implements its version of the Princeton Plan, where students are organized by grade level rather than where they live in the community.
The Number Four School is now the Lawrence Early Childhood Center at Number Four School for Pre-K and kindergarten. The Number Two School is Lawrence Primary School at Number Two School for first- and second-graders. Lawrence Middle School is now Lawrence Middle School at Broadway Campus and has students in sixth through eighth grade and the Lawrence Elementary School at Broadway Campus for third through fifth.
