In partnership with Nassau County, the Lawrence School District community held a health fair at the Number Four School in Inwood on Sept. 9.

The event which began at 11 a.m. and ended at 5 p.m., included a variety of free medical screenings by medical professionals and important medical information regarding diseases and insurance.

There was also introductory martial arts, yoga and pilates classes, along with entertainment for the children such as an obstacle course and a face-painting clown.

The idea behind the health fair was to bring health care to some who don’t usually visit a doctor and gain access to such things as mammographies and diabetes testing.
