The Hebrew Academy for Special Children in Woodmere held its annual Fireman are our Friends Day. Meadowmere Park chief’s aid Jason Hagler, Chiefs aid, informed the children about who to call in an emergency and not to be afraid of firefighters.

Firefighters from two Five Towns fire departments — Woodmere and Meadowmere Park — and approximately 150 pre-school to fourth grade Hebrew Academy for Special Children (HASC) became better acquainted at the Woodmere school’s annual Firemen are our Friends Day on May 29.
Through demonstrations that included firefighting equipment and fire trucks, the children learned what firefighters do and how they do it. The kids also received fire hats and vests.
HASC provides educational and therapeutic services to individuals with special needs from infancy through adulthood, who have developmental delays.
