Man assaulted and robbed in Cedarhurst

Police are looking for a man described as white, 18 to 20 years-old, approximately 5-feet, 6-inches tall, unshaven with short dirty-blond hair with a heavy build, wearing blue jeans, a green shirt and a denim jacket, who allegedly assaulted and robbed a 48-year-old man at the intersection of Summit and Washington avenues in Cedarhurst at 2:05 a.m. on Nov. 4.

According to Fourth Squad detectives, the victim was approached by the man who asked to use his cell phone. When he declined, he was hit over his left eye and nose with an unidentified object, police said. Knocked unconscious, it was discovered that his wallet and unspecified amount of money was removed from his pocket. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for a broken nose, contusions and lacerations.
