Man robbed at knifepoint in Inwood

Threatened by six on bicycles on Doughty Boulevard

A 25 year old man was robbed of an unspecified amount of money and his Samsung cell phone on Doughty Boulevard in Inwood at 5:25 a.m. on Aug. 5, according to police.

Walking on Doughty Boulevard, the man was approached by another man on a bicycle, which pulled out a black-colored knife and demanded money, police said.

Then five more men, also on bikes approached and one of them — described as being 20 years old with red shorts —waved a white metal bat and demanded money and the cell phone, according to police. The half dozen alleged robbers fled north on Doughty Boulevard on the bikes. No injuries were reported.
