Men's Club of Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst wins awards

The Men’s Club of Temple Beth El in Cedarhurst was presented with two awards from the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs for activities during 2018-2019. The first was the Quality Club Award given to a temple that met six required criteria and held at least 10 activities from July 2018 to June of this year.

A collaboration with Northwell Health, Temple Hillel, Congregation Sons of Israel, Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre, Temple Israel, Congregation Shaaray Shalom and the JCC of Cedarhurst helped to earn the Torch Award, a competitive prize that also gave the Men’s Club a silver medal in the area of health. The awards will be displayed in Temple Beth El’s office.

The Manhattan-based Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs is a partnership of roughly 250 affiliated clubs with more than 20,000 members across North America dedicated to involving Jewish men in Jewish life. The group trains volunteers and promotes the activities of men’s clubs throughout the Conservative/Masorti Movement.

On Thursday, Sept. 12 at Temple Hillel, 1000 Rosedale Road, North Woodmere, the topic is fall prevention. On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Hewlett-East Rockaway Jewish Centre, 295 Main Street, East Rockaway, staying healthy through flu season. Check with the individual synagogues for times.
