Mostly Cloudy Motorcyclist dies in Atlantic Beach accident

A motorcyclist, Thomas Kraft, was killed after colliding with a SUV at the intersection of Park Street and Nassau Avenue in Atlantic Beach on Monday.

Thomas Kraft, 22, of Port Washington, was killed as his motorcycle collided with a sport utility (SUV) vehicle at 5:37 p.m. in Atlantic Beach on Monday, police said.
A 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Kraft was travelling east on Park Street at Nassau Avenue, when it moved in the westbound lanes and struck a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV that was operated by a 55-year-old man, according to police.
Kraft was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV and a woman passenger were taken to a local hospital and were treated for trauma.
Both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety inspections. The police report no criminality at this time.
