Motorcyclist seriously injured in Lawrence

A man riding his motorcycle on the Seagirt Boulevard overpass and the Nassau Expressway in Lawrence was seriously injured as he lost control of the vehicle at 7:45 p.m. on May 28, officials responding to the scene said.

“A male apparently lost control of his bike while traveling on Seagirt Boulevard and was thrown onto the roadway suffering serious injuries,” said, Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department Chief Joseph Sperber.

LCFD firefighters treated the man, who was then taken by Nassau County Police helicopter to North Shore Hospital in Manhasset for further treatment of his injuries. The helicopter landed on the north side of the Atlantic Beach Bridge. The roadway was shutdown until police completed their investigation of the accident scene.
