Light Rain Motorist seriously injured in Lawrence

A motorist crossed over the southbound lanes of the Nassau Expressway just north of Burnside Avenue in Lawrence and collided with another vehicle last Saturday.

A 2011 Honda Civic traveling north on the Nassau Expressway crossed over into the southbound lanes north of Burnside Avenue and collided with another vehicle at 3:21 a.m. on Jan. 30 in Lawrence, police said.
The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old woman, was seriously injured and was considered in critical condition, according to police. The driver of the 2015 Honda CRV, a 21-year-old man, suffered minor injuries, polices. Both were taken to a local hospital.
The vehicles were impounded for brake and safety tests. The investigation is continuing, police said.
