In a fitting nod to a school that use “L’Dor Va Dor” (From generation to generation) as its motto and a story that highlights tradition, the Brandeis School’s past and present came together after five months of meticulous preparation as more than 40 students and five alumni helped to stage two shows of “Fiddler on the Roof” on March 30 and 31.

For the 22nd time faculty member Zelda Kastin directed a school production. This one starred student Max Greenberg as Tevye. Graduates Brett Lichtenberg (’08), was the musical director; Mayann Samuni (’10) choreographed the show and Jacob Fink and Isaac Franco (both ’11) served as stagehands.

The Fiddler story created by writer Sholem Aleichem centers on the Tevye, a poor milkman, his daughters’ marriages and the changes occurring in 1905 Czarist Russia.
