A motorist traveling north on Branch Boulevard lost control of his Toyota Tacoma pick up truck and struck two utility poles and a tree at the intersection by University Street on Jan. 6 at 3:45 p.m., Nassau County police and Woodmere Fire Department officials said.

The truck ended up on the front lawn of a house. The unidentified driver’s minor injuries were treated at the scene by members of the Woodmere Fire Department.

Branch Boulevard was closed for several hours while the Long Island Power Authority replaces the damaged poles and wires. One home lost power and it was restored in two hours, said LIPA spokeswoman Vanessa Baird-Streeter.
