Memorial Day celebrated in Lawrence and Cedarhurst

Remembering the military servicemen and women who lost their lives in combat to protect this nation is what Memorial Day is about, and the annual Lawrence-Cedarhurst march from the firehouse at Central and Washington avenues to Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park completed that mission.
The event’s began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial in Zion Park in Lawrence. It ended with a memorial service at the park that included a special remembrance for Parise. The longtime mayor of Cedarhurst died in February. He was a World War II veteran.
