Sunny Atlantic Beach Club in Atlantic Beach held its 30th annual volleyball tournament on Aug. 19.
This year’s tournament that had six teams and about 30 players participating benefited the Cedarhurst-based charities Rock and Wrap It Up! and the Let All the Children Play Foundation.
The tournament raised nearly $1,500 for the two charitable organizations, according to Dave Weingarten of the Let All the Children Play Foundation. “There was a lot of goodwill, camaraderie and support,” Weingarten said. “It is always a good day.”
Last year’s tournament was wiped out by Hurricane Irene. Plans are already underway to make the 31st annual volleyball tournament even better, Weingarten said.
