More than $8,400 was allegedly taken from the accounts of customers from the JP Morgan Chase Bank at 446 Central Ave. in Cedarhurst by Mircea Popescu-Onea, 25, according to police.
Popescu-Onea, who has no known address, police said, was seen on Saturday by bank employees checking a skimming device and they called the U.S. Secret Service. Popescu-Onea, who was leaving the scene in a Jeep Compass was stopped by an agent and taken into custody.
