Police seeking public’s help to identify woman

Police and Crime Stoppers are asking the public to help them identify a woman, who is wanted for the alleged theft of $100 from a woman shopping at Five Towns Liquors at 601 Burnside Ave., in Inwood on June 4 at 3:40 p.m.

The victim was shopping, when she felt pulling on her pocketbook. She turned around and saw a woman holding her bank envelope, which was removed from the pocketbook, according to police. The woman then fled east on Burnside Avenue with the money.

She is described as black, 6-feet tall and 220 pounds. Anyone who knows the identity of this woman or has any information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. Crime Stoppers offers a reward for information that leads to an arrest.
