EMUNAH held a comedy night fundraiser at the Back Stage Nite Club in Woodmere on Feb. 1. The organization provides services in Israel, including five children’s residential homes, 135 day care centers and afterschool programs.
The 125 attendees were entertained by the humor of Alex Edelman, a founding member of the Comedy Basement in Jerusalem, and headliner Avi Liberman, who has been on television including “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy Central and “Comics Unleashed.”
A dairy buffet was provided by Upper Crust and Gourmet Glatt supplied an “enormous” fruit platter, according to one of the event’s organizers, Linda Koegel, who is the group's Development Coordinator. Shula’s provided dessert and there were wines from the Wine Barrel.
EMUNAH board members Cindy Parnes, Leslie Wanderer, Tamar Sicklick, Ava Cushner, Bini Dachs, and the committee of Lauren Weinrib, Batseva Donner, Andrea Lovett, Sandy Mostel, Shari Shapiro, Elana Oved and Shavy Schlossberg, along with national president Fran Hirmes and Koegel helped make the event a success.
