Reach For The Stars Talent Showcase
Long Island’s version of “American Idol,” returns to Eisenhower Park for a show-stopping evening highlighting the talents of 21 aspiring teenage performers (chosen from an audition field of 64). A prestigious panel of music industry experts will choose first, second and third place winners. It’s a chance to see some local teenagers in action, including, Christina Cinnamo, 17, from Franklin Square; Alexa Ford, 14, from Lynbrook; Cassidy Heide, 18, from Oceanside; Merrick’s Lauren Lamonsoff, 16, and Michael Multer, 13; Quinn Lysaght, 14, from Rockville Centre; and Matt Mowery, 14, from Long Beach, among others.

Stepping Back In Time

Civil War Battle Re-Enactment
Union and Confederate troops descend upon Old Bethpage Village Restoration to reenact a Civil War battle this weekend. See the forces of the North and the South skirmish as the historic site is transformed into a southern battleground in this vivid portrayal of the Civil War. The action takes place both Saturday and Sunday, as Union infantry forces pursue the rebels.The men also demonstrate military drills, musket firing and other camp duties.

Summer Stage

Cinderella
The classic story springs to life in this fast-paced musical production, when Plaza Theatrical Productions brings the beloved tale to Eisenhower Park. Bring a chair, a blanket and the family and enjoy a family evening under the stars, with a happily-ever-after ending. The show is part of “Children’s Day” at the park, from 4-6 p.m. Kids can enjoy carnival rides, bouncy houses, face painting, and arts and crafts, prior to the performance.
