Two men dressed in utility uniforms made their in way into a Hewlett home last Wednesday morning, Oct. 14, and robbed the occupants of what is believed to be $100,000 in cash and jewelry, according to police.

The two men, dressed as Con Edison workers, knocked on the door of the Henrietta Place home at 10:05 a.m., according to detectives. The home’s live-in housekeeper opened the front door, believing the suspects were repairmen, at which time the two men pushed their way inside.

A brief time later, a male homeowner, who after hearing a commotion inside entered the house from the back, confronted the subjects. After a brief struggle, the suspects allegedly tied up the homeowner and his housekeeper with plastic ties, according to police.

The two men then allegedly demanded money and jewelry and threatened to kill the man and woman if they did not comply, according to police. One of the victims told the men where the money was and the subjects fled the scene with jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash, possibly in a blue colored van. No injuries were reported during the robbery, according to police.

The subjects are described by police as two black males, both wearing navy blue uniform-type shirts during the robbery. One suspect is described as being 6-feet, 2-inches tall and approximately 40 years old with a medium build. The other is said to be 5-feet, 8-inches tall in his mid-30s, also with a medium build.
