Robbie Rosen survives 'Idol's' dreaded group round

Merrick’s Robbie Rosen, a 16-year-old Calhoun High School junior, made his third appearance on “American Idol” on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

After surviving his audition with the The Beatles’ “Yesterday” and round one with James Moody’s “Moody’s Mood for Love,” this time Rosen had to sing in a group of five.

Singing the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back,” the group put forth a choreographed performance that impressed the judges, including Jennifer Lopez.

“That was good,” Lopez told the group. “We were really, really happy with that.”

Rosen, along with the rest of the members in his group, were then told that they had advanced to the next round.
